A 6-year-old child shot during a July Fourth holiday gathering in a neighborhood east of Washington D.C. has died, police announced Sunday.
Two other people − a man and a woman − also suffered gunshot wounds in the Thursday night shooting in Temple Hills, an unincorporated community located in Prince George's County in Maryland.
The Prince George County Police Department identified the fatal child victim as Ahsan Payton of Washington, D.C.
As of Monday, police said, no arrest had been made in the case and the agency's homicide detectives were working to identify a suspect or suspects in the shooting.

Two adults also hurt during Maryland shooting
According to a preliminary investigation, police said the shooting took place during a holiday gathering in the neighborhood, police said.
Officers responded to a report of a shooting about 7:50 p.m. and reported they found Payton suffering from a gunshot wound.
The boy was rushed to a hospital for treatment where he died as a result of his injuries late Saturday night, police said.
Two adults were also injured during the shooting − an unidentified man who suffered non life-threatening injuries and an unidentified woman police said was treated on the scene for a gunshot graze wound. Police did not elaborate on the man's injuries.
Motive under investigation, reward for info leading to arrest
The agency's Homicide Unit detectives on Monday continued to investigate a motive in the shooting, according to a news release.
Anyone who attended the party or with information about the shooting is asked to call Prince George County police.
A reward of up to$25,000 is being offered for information leading to an arrest and indictment in this case.
